Reviews
We came here for NYE dinner and it was packed and had a great energy. Full tables inside and on the outdoor heated backyard. Service was great, especially given how busy they were and food and drinks did not take too long. The spicy rigatoni is actually very spicy, unlike similar dishes at other restaurants. Everyone enjoyed their meal!
My friend and I popped in here on a whim after walking around Brooklyn for hours and not knowing what to eat and boy am I glad we did. I tend not to order pasta when I go out because I do just fine making it at home but this menu was INSPIRED. There were so many things I wanted to order but I ended up going with a penne dish with shrimp in it and it was to die for. The shrimp was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Not sure what kind of bread they brought out, kinda seemed like focaccia but I am incredibly ignorant so I could absolutely be wrong, but it almost made me emotional it was so damn good.
My only gripe, if you can even call it that, is they had like 3 different menus to account for specials and seasonal dishes which is great, but I went on their website to look up the menu afterwards to recall what I tried and what I wanted to try. Their website only has their main, permanent menu so there were a lot of dishes that I didn’t see listed. So if you’re scouting out the menu before you go - there might be even more options when you’re there!!
I love to write reviews of local restaurants that just do everything great. I'm. a pasta snob and very few restraunts prepare pasta correctly. The cooking of the pasta is a simple thing yet most overcook it !! Gersi prepared it perfectly ! The Lemon Pasta was excellent. Kale salad was huge !! Polenta dish was great. Nice portions of authentic food !! BTW: Pro tip, add shrimp to the Lemon Pasta !
Food is great. Branzino highly recommended. Bruschetta is amazing. Pass on the fennel citrus salad. The pastas were all great. Place is EXTREMELY loud. With 6 people at the table one end of the table could not hear the other. They charge 3% surcharge for credit card. It's not like it's McDonald's selling $1 hamburgers. I'm sure they can absorb the 2% credit card fee
I just had the best Italian pasta known to men.
So I went there on a Friday night with my friend and we had a good time catching up.
The waiters were friendly and accommodating. The dessert wasn't my favorite, but the eggplant pasta I ordered was 10/10 yummy.
It was so filling that I couldn't finish the entire meal in one sitting. I recommend!
The ambiance is nice. Great for groups or couples. The food was delish. We ordered appetizers and they did not disappoint. The Burrata’s tomatoes were Devine. Brussel sprouts were great. We ordered the garlic bruschetta. I got the chicken …
Delicious food, consistently good, and the staff is very friendly. What prompted me to a write a review is the thoughtful takeout order. It felt really good when I opened the bag at home and I saw that they included their delicious bread and white beans. The small things matter!
The brunch menu is quite extensive and has way more than eggs and toast. I'm always pleased and surprised by its quality, so I recommend it effusively.
My birthday was complete thanks to the Gersi team. I really wanted a light white wine seafood pasta to celebrate and that's exactly what I got! I was first treated to a tomato focaccia with a white bean dip-- so delicious!! I ordered the Linguine Vongole and was pleasantly surprised. The dish was light, with a lovely taste of white wine and very fresh parsley. The clams were tasty and not rubbery. The team was very nice and accomodated my request without hesitation. I would highly recommend you fill your belly at Gersi!
